The Heart of Healing:
Restoring Our Original Program
by Darren Starwynn, O.M.D., Dipl. Ac.

The article below, "The Heart of Healing" is provided to give you an understanding of the upcoming 3-day healing retreat in Carefree, Arizona on November 7 – 9 entitled “Healing The Root of Pain”. Details and full schedule may be found at http://www.east-westseminars.com/event4.html

What is really happening when a person shifts from chronic physical or emotional pain to enjoy a new, expanded experience of wholeness? There are many ways to understand this, ranging from shifts in brain bio-chemistry to spiritual awakening.

What follows are excerpts of an article that was written to express another view of what happens when the heart of healing is activated within a person.

The "heart of healing" is what allows a real shift in the inner, fundamental cause of pain or disease.

Not all people have claimed the level of self-awareness and self-responsibility that is required for this, and many may be only able to accept palliative treatment. Yet a rapidly increasing number of people are awakening to their desire and readiness to live a life of wholeness. They understand their need to clear out their old, limiting programs, and are drawn to practitioners who are able to support them on that level.

The Heart of Healing process may be harmoniously done in conjunction with any medical or healing art, or by non-professionals for themselves or family and friends.

The tools of vibrational medicine - colored light, sound, microcurrent and healing touch can greatly help by bringing pure and harmonious "information" into the client’s body.

The purpose of the event coming up in Carefree on November 7 - 9 is to teach participants methods of vibrational evaluation and healing, and to create an environment conducive for each to connect with their own life program, thereby opening their innate gifts of enhanced intuition and direct knowing.

These qualities allow practitioners to serve the deeper needs of their patients, assisting them in healing the root of pain. This supports increased clinical results, and hence, greater business success.

What to expect during the healing retreat:

Day One:
-Begins with a sharing of information both intuitive and scientific about vibrational energy medicine - understanding light, sound and bio-electricity.
-We will study the acupuncture systems and their relationship to the chakras; the energy centers in the body that move and vivify our life energies and store our positive and negative programs.
- Methods of evaluating the body's energy systems will be taught in a hands-on session.
-The day will conclude with a practicum in self-knowledge, so each participant may connect with his or her own heart of healing. We will conclude with a sunset labyrinth walk behind the retreat center.

Day Two:
-As a group and individually, we will be practicing intuitive evaluation skills to expand our Higher Sense Perception.
-Identifying and bringing out your essential inner qualities that allow you to accurately and successfully facilitate others – while expanding the fulfillment of your own life.
-Learning how to keep your energy field clear when working with others.

Day Three:
-We will focus on practical applications of the information and expanded awareness.
-This includes practice with partners, and the use of light and other vibrational therapies through devices and direct hands-on touch.
-There will also be a practicum on direct resonance healing, a simple, yet profound healing method.

To be fully integrative. balanced and fun we have created time for walks, music, Qi Gong, rest and making new friends and perhaps colleagues.

Success stories using this process :
----------------------------------------
(1)
Joanne (name has been changed) is a teacher who came to me with chronic shoulder pain.

She had already been treated for it without much relief. She knew that I worked with acupuncture and microcurrent therapies, and asked if I could help relieve her pain and restricted movement.

I evaluated her, and after determining her meridian imbalances administered an acupuncture treatment that included whole-body balancing master points and microcurrent therapies. She experienced about a 70% relief of the pain after receiving this treatment. Some of the deeper pain persisted, however.

I sensed that this was not just about a physical injury, but was connected to aspects of Joanne's personal history. I relaxed my clinical mind and opened my heart and intuition, asking her to do the same.

Soon a stream of perceptions came. I asked Joanne about her relationship with her mother and her ancestry in eastern Europe. After some intuitive dialoguing it became clear to both of us that she was carrying forward an unspoken tradition among the women in her family to quietly "shoulder" suffering within difficult family dynamics.

Once Joanne became aware of this unconscious agreement, and simply connected with the energy of it, she chose to make a new decision - she no longer wanted or needed to carry her family's pain. We then witnessed this heavy energy release and "unwind" out of her body.

Her shoulder now felt at least 90% better, and the relief lasted for several weeks until we spoke again.

(2)
Charlene (name changed again) came to a lecture I gave about vibrational healing. She had had chronic back and hip pain for 8 years, and being a bodyworker, had worked on it extensively without lasting relief.

When it was time for demonstrations, I treated Charlene with my microcurrent-light unit for a couple of minutes.

After using the light probes to treat the center of the painful hip and a reflex point on her upper chest for about 90 seconds, she told me that the pain was completely gone - for the first time in years.

When I talked to Charlene almost a month later, she told me that she had been pain-free that entire time, and that only a little bit of discomfort had just started to come back at the end of the month.

It is ongoing pain in some form that brings most patients to the offices of health practitioners. The skills of the practitioner are often able to relieve the pain or reduce or eliminate the uncomfortable symptoms. Yet how many of these same patients return over and over again, with the same or a different set of symptoms? How many seek other practitioners, hoping that the next one or the newest healing system will finally allow them to move on from pain to live a more fulfilling life?

Most of us recognize the limitations of Western medicine in preventing pain and disease and addressing its deeper causation. It is also my observation that even the so-called alternative or complementary healing systems including acupuncture, chiropractic, bodywork and other forms of energy healing, although more comprehensive, still only support a part of the patient's need to return to wholeness.

Within all these professions, however, there are those individual practitioners who are more successful at facilitating profound healing. Those are the deeply caring ones who are traversing the inner
journey to wholeness themselves, and thus are able to help others do the same.

Chinese Medicine teaches that pain is the experience of blockage in the flow of Qi, or vital life force, through the meridians of the body.

In a broader sense, we can say that pain is the actual feeling of resisting the flow of life. At this time, so much pain and disease is based on resistance and difficulty adapting to change. The pace of change on our planet and human societies is greatly accelerating in our lifetimes with lots of uncertainty and seemingly overwhelming planetary problems. In just a few generations so many reference points of stability have disappeared or changed. The stresses of "future shock" are upon us.

Those that can open their minds and hearts and adapt to change well are those who are doing the best through this transition time. There are many people who want to do this, and are capable of it, but just need the right intervention and support, at the right time.

The great news is that each of us, no matter how much pain or struggle we may be going through, have a part of us that is always clear and problem-free. This could be called our life program or original blueprint. It is an aspect of our Higher Self. This is the etheric source of the information contained in our genetic code that makes us look and function the way we do. Our life program not only holds the seeds of our physical and personality makeup, it also is the connection point between our mortal self, that is subject to pain and problems, and our spiritual self, which has never had any.

It is possible to place our body, mind and emotions within the harmonious field of our life program and renew our experience. Using computer terminology, this can accurately be considered "rebooting" our internal operating system!

This is the heart of healing - helping our patients re-connect with the clarity and harmony of their life program. As they or we do this, many adjustments follow in the organs and glands, nervous system, bio-chemistry and brain function that restore homeostasis and well-being.

You are most welcome to join us. The retreat will take place at the beautiful Spirit In The Desert retreat
center in the high desert country north of Scottsdale, Arizona on November 7 – 9. November is a wonderful month in Arizona, with warm days and cool, starry nights.

There will be a rare total lunar eclipse on Saturday evening, November 8, starting at 6:32 PM. This will be viewable from the center, and is considered to be a significant consciousness gateway by many sources. For details, see website http://analyzer.depaul.edu/paperplate/pveclipse2003.htm.

A limited number of reasonably priced sleeping rooms are available at the center - register early if you want to stay on site.

This event will be taught by myself and co-facilitated by my partner Lisa Long. If you have questions about this event, or would like to talk to me in advance, please feel free to call or e-mail me at my office: 1-800-872-6789, dstarwynn@neta.com.
